In-home physiotherapy for post-surgery rehabilitation
One-on-one assessment and treatment at your home in Downtown Toronto, Yorkville, Bayview Village and Rosedale.
The weeks after surgery decide how well you recover, and they are exactly the weeks when travelling to a clinic is hardest. In-home rehabilitation brings that care to your door after joint replacement and other orthopaedic surgery, following your surgical team’s protocol, at your pace, in the rooms where recovery actually happens.
At home, rehab is practical from day one: getting out of your own bed, managing your own stairs, moving safely in your own bathroom and kitchen. Progress is measured against real milestones, walking distance, stair confidence, bend and strength, not just exercises performed in a gym.
Common problems I see
- Hip and knee replacement recovery
- Shoulder and other joint surgery
- Fracture recovery after the cast or boot comes off
- Spinal surgery follow-up care
- Regaining stairs, walking and daily activities
How treatment works
Bring your discharge instructions, I work to your surgeon’s protocol and precautions. Early visits focus on movement, swelling and safe mobility around the house; later visits build strength, balance and endurance toward your goals, whether that’s a walk around the block or back to the activities you love. If anything about your recovery concerns me, I’ll tell you promptly and help you reach the right member of your surgical team.
Sessions and fees
A first visit is a 60-minute session ($180): a full assessment, hands-on treatment where appropriate, and your home program. Follow-ups are 45 minutes ($160). You’ll get an honest estimate of how many sessions you’re likely to need after your first assessment, no obligation to book a block.
Questions
When should rehab start after surgery?
As early as your surgical team advises, for many joint replacements that means within the first days home. Book your first visit once you have a surgery date, and have your discharge instructions handy.
Do you follow my surgeon’s protocol?
Yes. Your surgical team’s precautions and protocol lead the plan; I progress your exercises and milestones within them and keep your goals at the centre.
What do I need at home for rehab?
Very little, a clear space to move, a sturdy chair and your discharge papers. I bring what the session needs, and your program uses your own stairs, rooms and furniture.
